Kasar Devi Temple is a place that simultaneously offers a view of natural beauty and a sense of miraculous divine peace. There are only three such places in the world like this. These places are Stonehenge in the United Kingdom, Machu Picchu in Peru, and Kasar Devi in India. Scientifically and religiously, it is said that paying particular attention to meditating at this place is easy. There are Van Allen belts around the Earth, from where the rays emanate continuously. But there are gaps in those three places. For that, the magnetic power of that place is so high. And that’s why it helps to center your mind.

    Attraction

The peace of soul we run here and there, and all our lives exist naturally here. That is the saying of science and religious saints. This may be the only place where science and religion come to agree together. This peaceful and lovely place boasts natural beauty and breathtaking views of the Himalayan hills and the city of Almora from the impressive Kasar Devi Temple. The atmosphere is so relaxing. It is also a perfect place for meditation. Visiting this place will give you inner peace for sure. There is also a cave where Swami Vivekananda meditated. In total, it is a place worth visiting.

    History

According to some sources, Kasar Devi Temple is 2500 years old, but it was built 75 years ago. Before building the temple, devotees used to worship the hill where it is located now.
Swami Vivekananda came here to meditate in 1890 and gave his ageless lecture. An experienced globetrotter, Vivekananda, says every genuinely religious person in India should spend some time here at the end of his life.
After him, many other renowned people went there for meditation.

    Inside/Outside Views

There are two ways to reach the temple from the road. The first one involves tracking. You need to track 400-500 meters to reach the temple in that way. The second way allows cars and other vehicles. You will get a good parking place in that way.
Devi Katyayani predominates in the main temple. It is believed that she is one of the Mahamaya’s avatars. She also killed the demons Shumbh and Nishumbh. If we look carefully, there is some more light from here. You can see a lion’s face here, which used to worship before the set of the idol Katyayani. Swami Vivekananda meditated in a cave located inside the main temple.
There is a Mahadev temple about 40-50 meters up the hill. In that temple, an ancient” Shiva-Linga” is predominant, which is supposed to be 150 years old. Kasar Devi Temple is 150 meters from the Mahadev temple, and it looks so beautiful from there.
