    History

    Kollam Beach is located on the Malabar Coast along the Arabian Sea. The Mahatma Gandhi Park is situated at the southern end of the beach which was opened on 1 January 1967 by the then vice president of India, Zakir Hossain.
    The beach features soft, golden y, and gentle waves, creating a serene environment. The shoreline stretches far a wide, making it ideal for long walks, beach games, and enjoying the surroundings.

    When you enter the beach you can see the vast Arabian Sea stretching out to the horizon, with gentle waves lapping against the shore.     Inside the beach, there is a park. The park’s name is Mahatma Gandhi Park. The park has a playground for kids, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, and a small swimming pool.
    The area around the beach features some small local shops, cafes, and vendors offering refreshments. Where you can buy snacks, soft drinks, ice cream etc. There is a parking facility.

    By Train: Kollam Railway station is near the beach Which is around 4 km away. From here you can take a taxi or local transport to reach Kollam beach 

    By Road: Kollam KSRTC Bus Stand is the main bus terminal in Kollam. From here you can easily access Kollam Beach.
