Legends said that the Hindu deity Lakshman crossed the Ganges on the jute ropes where the bridge is built. This jhula was completed in 1929. On November 5th,2020 this bridge is restricted to pedestrian access and is set to be closed permanently when a replacement bridge is built parallel to it.

This jhula is a suspension bridge about 450 ft long and the entire Bridge is made of iron and situated at a height of 70 ft from the river.
