    Laxmi temple is a distance of 2 km from Orchha fort. Lakshmi Narayan Temple is a huge temple situated in Orchha town, and It is one of the famous historical places to visit in Orchha other than Orchha Fort complex.

    Laxmi TempleThe aerial view is owl-shaped and Lakshmi’s mount translates into a roughly triangular design on the ground. Many wall and ceiling paintings depicting various themes, including portraits of Colonial officers, hinting at later additions.
    Clean and well maintained. This temple offers a bird’s eye view of the Orchha city and that is the best part to visit this temple. The temple itself is quite interesting in its architecture style and decorative patterns. Mural paintings adore the ceiling and walls of the whole temple.

    History

    As this temple name is Laxmi temple, so its dedicated to Goddess Laxmi, She is the hindu goddess of wealth. This temple is built in 1622 by bir singh. Bir Singh made arrangements to offer sacrifices for Lakshmi, but due to inadequate maintenance, the condition of the temple soon worsened, and in 1793, It was reconstructed by Prithvi Singh. The structure of this temple is rectangular, with four multi-faced projects. It has been built with lime mortar and bricks, with slots for cannons used during the wars.

    By rail: The nearest rail-head is Jhansi which is 16 kilometers.

    By road: You can take a bus to reach orchha first then hire a cab to reach any places in orchha.
