    History

    Lokanarkavu Temple holds great significance both historically and anciently. Bhagavathi was the Family goddess of Kadathanattu Raja. It is very famous through our traditional Northerner songs (vadakkan pattukal). When they had any fights, The great warriors of the Thacholi family (specifically Thacholi Othenan) were performing special rituals in the temple prior.
    Lokanarkavilamma was also considered as their Family goddess. One of the stone stages (now cement plastered) in the corner of the temple was reserved for the Thacholi family to sit and watch while the temple festival was being performed. It is worth visiting.
