    Maa Kalyaneswari Temple is a glorified Hindu temple.  It is situated near Asansol in West Bengal, India. It is an ancient temple which is believed to be over 500 years old. The temple was built to dedicate Goddess Kalyaneshwari, who is an incarnation of Goddess Kali. It is located on the banks of the Barakar River, and the river holds a picturesque setting for the temple. It is an important pilgrimage site, and the devotees come here to seek blessings from their God. The tranquil atmosphere and spiritual appeal make it a well-known place for not only religious people but also casual visitors.

    History

    Maa Kalyaneswari Temple is a form of Goddess Shakti (Kali). The temple is famous for fulfilling the wishes of the devotees, and for this reason, it is called the “temple of the goddess of fulfillment.” According to the local people, they get everything that they want here. Even some childless couples have children after worshipping the God in this temple. King Harigupta was made the temple in the 3rd century. Around 500 years ago, the worship of Shakti has been started here. According to the legend, in ancient times, people made human sacrifices to please God in the temple. Sri Gurudin Prasad Pal built the modern structure of the temple, which we can see nowadays.  The temple is a special place for its devotees, especially for childless couples.

    Inside View :When you enter the main shrine of the temple,  you will witness the idol of Maa Kalyaneshwari, which is beautifully adorned with flowers and other offerings from devotees.  The fragrance of incense and the pious sounds of bhajans are heard in the place. The walls of the temple is also decorated with carvings that tells various mythological stories of the ancient times. Here you can also see the prayer hall, the sacred pond. In the pond, you can take a bath before offering prayers.

    By Bus:  Barakar Bus Stand is the nearest bus stand to the temple. It is approximately 7 kilometers away from the temple. From here, you have to take a taxi or cab to get there.

    By Train: Barakar Railway Station is the closest station to the temple. It is only 10 kilometers away from the temple. From here, you have to take any local transport to get there in a short time.

    • Winter season, from October to June, is the best time to visit the hill. 
    • Carry your necessary papers, passport, water bottles & medicines & energy drink.
