The people of the first century AD constructed the present temple. Maharaja Nripendra Narayan laid the temple’s cornerstone on July 8, 1889. On March 21, 1890, Rajmata Nishimoyee Devi blessed and dedicated the Madan Mohan temple. Maharaja Nripendra Narayan opened Anandamoyee Dharamshala to the east of the temple grounds.
