    Madhuban Ashram is a typical guest house situated in the Gateway to the ‘Garhwal Himalayas‘ in Rishikesh. There is a beautiful temple of Lord Krishna and Lord Rama in the premises of the ashram where you can worship. As the ashram follows all the rituals and traditions of ‘ISKCON’ temple, it is also known as an ISKCON temple. One can indulge in the auspicious ‘Rath Yatra’ which is held every year during the Janmashtami festival. ‘Rath Yatra‘ is widely visited by hundreds of Lord Krishna’s devotees.

    How to Reach

    By road: Rishikesh being a famous pilgrim place possesses a good network of buses connecting it with important cities like Dehradun, Haridwar, and New Delhi. Buses depart in the morning and evening from Kashmiri Gate ISBT, New Delhi for Rishikesh every day making it an easily accessible place.

    By Train: Madhuban Ashram is located at ‘Muni Ki Reti’ in Rishikesh. It is situated close to Kailash Ashram. Muni Ki Reti is only 4 km away from Rishikesh Railway Station. Haridwar which is approximately 25 km away. It is interlinked with major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow and Varanasi and many more. Taxis and buses are easily available from the railway station. Auto rickshaws are also available at Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and Triveni Ghat for Madhuban Ashram.

    By air: The closest airport, ‘Jolly Grant Airport’, is only 18 kilometers away from this area which is in Dehradun. Apart from that, there are airports in Delhi or Lucknow to reach Dehradun by flight. From the airport, you can easily get local transport to reach the site.

    Tips for Travellers

    • Fresh and hygienically prepared food is served (which is pure vegetarian). Even the ashram does not use garlic and onion as ingredients in its food to make it pure vegetarian.
    • Avoid the Monsoon. It’s better to avoid visiting during the monsoon season (from July to August) due to heavy rainfall, which can lead to landslides and difficult travel conditions.
    • Consider visiting during festive seasons like Diwali or Janmashtami for a cultural experience. During these times, the ashram hosts special events and celebrations, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
    • Please wear suitable clothes according to both culture and seasons.
