History

On August 30, 1983, the then Railway Minister ABA Gani Khan Chowdhury inaugurated the railway park of Malda Division of Eastern Railway. It is claimed that the railway park had a beautiful environment in the beginning. Local residents also claimed that the rail passengers from the district and from outside the district to the town station used to spend some time in this park. But for a long time without renovation, the park was closed. Finally, the park was reopened by the Malda Division of the Eastern Railway with a new design. Railways have handed over the responsibility to the private organizations to look after this park.

The Park has a quite large area of 7.7 acres and offers a tranquil and scenic environment characterized by its lush greenery and serene atmosphere.
