    Mangal Dham Pranami Temple is a famous Hindu Temple. It is considered one of the most beautiful temples in India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. It was built in 1993 by Shri Krishna Pranami in the divine memory of late guru Shri Mangaldasji.

    Guruji Shri Mangal Das Ji Mahraj arrived at Kalimpong in the year 1940 when he was 40 years old. His dream was to serve the people by constructing schools, orphanages, and temples. He visited this place and it created a deep impact in his mind. Later he purchased some land to fulfill his dream and the temple Mangal Dham Pranami was built in his memory.Guruji Mangaldasji was born on Ashwin Shukla Dwadashi Vikram Samvat 1953 (18th October 1896) in Melbote village of Ilam district of Nepal. His father was Shri Kalyandas and his mother’s name was Narbada Bai. He completed his holy journey on foot of all the four Dham’s of Dwarka, Badrinath, Jagannath, and Rameshwaram, he reached the divine inspiration here to go and preach the Dharma in the North-Eastern region. He preached to his followers of living a purely vegetarian and simple life. Due to his preachings, thousands of people in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri, Assam, Sikkim, and Bhutan became his followers. On 1st  May 1985, He attained the Lotus feet of Lord Krishna.

    Mangal Dham Pranami Temple is surrounded by an area of 2 acres. On the ground floor of the temple, there is the ‘Samadhi’ of Guruji Mangaldas.  The top floor of the temple is the prayer hall. In the prayer hall, there are idols of Raj Shyamji, Revered Prannathji, and Guru Mangaldasji. On both sides of the wall, there are picture stories of Nijanand Acharya Shri Devchandraji meeting Lord Krishna. Moreover, there are many sculptures on the inner wall of the temple. The temple is amazingly decorated. The place is very calm and quiet.

    Everyday this temple opens at 6am to 6pm.

    The Kalimpong Bus stand is only 700 meters away from the Mangal Dham Pranami Temple. It can also be reached from the nearest railway station and airport. The visitors can take a taxi from the station or airport to go to the temple.
