    Mayur Pahar is situated in Ajodhya Hill and the Forest Reserve area of Purulia. It is the best sunset point in Purulia. The viewpoint is located on top of a hill. It is easily accessible, and there are stairs that lead up. It is a great place to enjoy the beauty of the Ajodhya hill. There is a watch tower from where you can enjoy the wonderful scenery. The breeze is cool, and the atmosphere is pleasant. At the top of the hill, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Humayun. It is a popular spot for picnics and bird watching.

    Cave: There is an ancient cave in the hills of Mayur. The name is Yogini Cave. This Yogini cave also stands with its branches of beauty.

    The name Mayur is derived from the local wildlife, and it reflects the region’s biodiversity. Once, this place was famous for the roaming of peacocks. At present there is no peacock found here. The top of the hill is marked by a watchtower, which provides 360 degree views of the surrounding area. The viewpoint offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys that is attracting both local and tourists. The beauty of Purulia is visible from the top of the Mayur Pahar. Small tribal villages spread over this area. Tribals in this area are known for their hospitality.
