Mayur Pahar is situated in Ajodhya Hill and the Forest Reserve area of Purulia. It is the best sunset point in Purulia. The viewpoint is located on top of a hill. The name Mayur is derived from the local wildlife, and it reflects the region’s biodiversity. Once, this place was famous for the roaming of peacocks. At present there is no peacock found here.
