Namthing Pokhari is tucked away in Kurseong’s Shelpu Hills in the Darjeeling District. Namthing Pokhari, which is located 4500 feet above sea level, is only open during certain seasons. In addition to being a unique and unusual Darjeeling Hills attraction, it is also home to numerous rare kinds of plants and animals. Numerous Himalayan birds, butterflies, and wild creatures can be found in the area, with the endangered Himalayan Salamander being one of the more notable. When there is a lot of rain, the lake’s water level can reach 3.5 meters and 10,000 square meters. The Lake’s water level instantly starts to decrease as the monsoon starts to wind down. By the end of October, Lake had lost any sign of water.
