    The resort, to be honest, is slightly mediocre, the average rooms with a widespread area of lush greenery with little ducks roaming around a neat, clean, and well maintained pond. The area is very spacious and totally relaxing; this will certainly rejuvenate you. One of the biggest attractions is Sharat Chandra’s house. Not only the place’s history but also the journey to this place is rich with an endearing view of the nature around.
    In this report, you will get free car parking, a fitness center with a gym (workout room), a tidy pool and even an outdoor pool, a bar or lounge, and many more. The children are allowed to do activities, which makes it family-friendly. However, you can also get the laundry service. So, all the basic amenities are available here. You can visit this place alone or with family and friends.

    The resort is very well organized for staying. It offers a nice playground along with a small swimming pool. You can relax here if you want to. The food is nice, and the lush greenery will make you feel peace. The garden is well-maintained, and swings are almost everywhere. The food of the resort is also delicious.
    The riverside area, where the resort is located, is peaceful. Besides, the added attraction is a 17th-century ‘terracotta’ temple. Also, the famous Bengali writer/ novelist Sarat Chandra Chatterjee’s (he has cult status) house is not far from the resort. You can visit another place as well. The river, too, is close by, and an old terracotta Krishna temple is also there.

    How to Reach

    By road: It is situated in Howrah’s ‘Deulti’ area. From the busy area of Howrah, the Nirala Resort is about 40 km away. Howrah is well connected with other major cities like Kolkata, Midnapore, Siliguri, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Mumbai etc. of the country. And from Howrah city, you will get local transport to reach the site.

    By air: The closest airport, ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport’ (which is an international one), is almost 67 kilometers away from this area and is in Dum Dum, Kolkata. You can visit this place from outside of India. Apart from that, there are airports in Delhi, Mumbai, or Lucknow with direct flights to Kolkata. From the airport, you can easily get local transport to reach the site.

    By train: The closest railway station from the Nirala Resort is only 2 km away at the ‘Deulti Railway Station.’ This station is well connected with major areas of the country. From the station, you will get local transport so that you can reach the site.

    Tips for Travellers

    Please wear suitable and comfortable clothes according to both culture and seasons.
    Don’t forget to follow the code of conduct.
    If you are visiting Howrah for the first time, try to visit in a group for safety purposes.
    Please stay away from total strangers.
    To stay here, you need to book a room at least 2 weeks in advance as most of the time they have full occupancy.
    No outside food is allowed.
    Pure Bengali thali along with Chinese and tandoori food is available in Nirala Resort.
