    This place is famous for its history.
    It is connected to the Mughal Flavour of India. A long time ago, Ali Quli Khan married Mehr Un Nisa. Got the title of Sher Afghan from the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Mehr Un Nisa, who was the Muse of Salim Jehangir, had to marry Sher Afghan and leave Agra. Then, they came to Bardhaman for a new settlement. Kutub and Sher Afghan fought and killed each other. Since then, they have been lying here. Meher was dragged back to Agra and later married Jehangir, who became Noor Jehan, the most illustrious and powerful queen of the Mughal period.
