The King of Coorg wanted to see the daily sunset and sunrise view and he found this place and constructed a simple structure made of bricks with supporting pillars (4 pillars). The Kings and queens were used to seat here and enjoy the view of sunset and sunrise. This is not a royal structure like other Raj-era structures. But the natural beauty of the place makes it different from the others.

By air: The nearest airport to Raja’s seat is Mangalore international airport. It is 141 km away from the place. It is well connected with the other cities of India. Local transports are easily available at the airport which will take you to the place.

By rail: The city of Madikeri does not have a railway station. So, you have to go via Subrahmanya Road which is in Mangalore. It is about 85.4 km away from the place. From the station, you can hire any local transport to reach Raja’s Seat.
