    Ram jhula is one of the major tourist attractions of Rishikesh and it’s the iron suspension bridge. Its located about 3 km Northeast of Rishikesh town and this jhula Connects the Sivananda Nagar area of Muni Ki Reti to Swarg ashram, crossing the river from east to west. This jhula is so famous place in Rishikesh. This bridge has a length of 450 feet or 137 meters.

    Ram jhula is so a beautiful bridge in Rishikesh that you cannot take off your eyes it. When you cross this bridge you can see the river Ganga gushing below with full force and the surrounding Himalayas can also be seen glistening with pride.  In the evening time, this jhula looks more beautiful than at any other time. You can see the whole view of Ganga standing over this bridge. This Feeling is so Amazing. This place is so peaceful. You feel like you are in Heaven. The sunrise and sunset views from this place are another level of beautiful fence.

    History

    This jhula is called Ram Jhula after lord Ram and this jhula was constructed by the PWD in 1986 under the supervision and instruction of the government. This jhula is almost 33 years old and it was initially constructed with ropes during British rule in India. In 1927 this bridge was originally constructed by the British who wanted to cross from that particular point.

    Ram jhula And Lakshman Jhula is an iron suspension bridge situated, over river Ganges to cross the river and is a landmark of Rishikesh.

    This bridge is the iconic Landmark in Rishikesh. One can see many religious centers and Hindu ashrams located on both sides of this river. The Ram Jhula is comparatively bigger than Lakshman Jhula similar in design. This Ram jhula is less crowded than Lakshman Jhula. It was merely a hanging jute ropeway bridge without having any support of pillars.
