Raza Library is one of the largest libraries in the Asia continent, situated in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It got its name after Raza Ali Khan Bahadur, the last Nawab of Rampur. The place where it is situated is called Rampur Quilla. On one side of the Rampur Quilla, Raza Library is located, and on the side of Raza Library, Rang Mahal and City Montage School are located.
This Library is under the Indian government now, and local administration looks after it. It’s a historical excellence of Rampur. It is familiar all over India and also outside of India. More than 60000 books and 7000 manuscripts are in the Library, along with rare miniature paintings. Visitors from all over the world come to visit this Library because of collecting knowledge about those art pieces.
Raza Library is a combination of art, culture, and history. It is not only an event but a series of events. It holds a complete culture in itself. In this library, the world’s most ancient manuscripts are placed, which other libraries also have. But there is also something else without these. The library contains the Quran, written by Hazrat Ali on camel skin; the Ramayan, written in Farsi, which Goldwater wrote; and the Shrimad Bhagwat Puran, written in the 18th century. Manuscripts and books written in Hindi, Sanskrit, Farsi, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Turkey, and English are also in the Library. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Sinhalese, and other language manuscripts written in palm leaves are also in the Library.
