    The Red fort is the historical fort in Old Delhi, it is located in the center of Delhi. It is also known as Lal Qila. In 1638, This monument is built, that rises 33 meters above Old Delhi and was built by The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It was originally referred to as “Qila-i-Mubarak” which means (the blessed fort) because it was the residence of the royal family.

    In 2007, UNESCO declared It a World Heritage Site.

The fort’s massive red sandstone walls stand 75 feet high, also a complex of palaces and entertainment halls, projecting balconies, baths, indoor canals, geometrical gardens, as well as an ornate mosque. Besides, the most famous structure of the complex is the ‘Hall of Public Audience’ has 60 red sandstone pillars supporting a flat roof. Then, the Hall of Private Audience (Diwan-i-Khas), is smaller and has a pavilion of white marble. For This, more Than thousands of tourists visit this fort, every year.     In 1638, Shah Jahan moved the city of Delhi, from his empire Agra to a newly constructed city. The construction of this new city called  Shahjahanabad, then he laid the foundations of his palace, the Red Fort or Lal Qila. It took nearly a decade with red sandstone to complete it and is considered

    to be better planned than the Agra Fort.

    for around 200 years, this fort was the seat of the Mughal empire, until it fell into British hands. in 1837,

    The last Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was inaugurated here, during that time, it is said that his powers did not extend beyond the boundaries of his palace.
