Sanghak Choeling Monastery is situated on a ridge across from the Pemayangtse Monastery is Sanga Choeling Gompa. The monastery appears to be perched on a hill from a distance, and the surrounding mountains provide a lovely scene. One of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, it was built in the 17th century and is visited by pilgrims and travelers from all over the world. Sanga Choeling, also known as the “place of secret spells,” is accessible by foot via a dense forest of deciduous trees. The temple’s well-kept courtyard can be reached after a 4-kilometer stroll through a tunnel of greenery. This monastery is an absolute must-visit for anyone interested in traditional Tibetan architecture.
