The name ‘Sasippara’ is taken from Malayalam words where ‘Sasi’ stands for moon and ‘para’ means rock. The place got the name ‘Sasippara’ probably because of the moon-like appearance of the rock formations or the serene environment of the area. Historically, the place has been a lesser-known destination, but gradually, it has turned into a tourist spot. The tranquil ambiance and greenery attract tourists to visit the spot.
