Satkhanda, which is next to the Chota Imambara, resembles a medieval work of art that has been frozen in time and is reminiscent of the Tower of Babel. It is a remnant of princely aspirations. This red-brick building was originally intended to be a seven-story tower, but it was only
completed to the fourth story because King Mohammed Ali Shah passed away suddenly in 1840. The tower’s planned grandeur is hinted at by its name, Satkhanda, which means “Seven-Storeyed.” However, only four of its floors were completed when construction was abandoned. The tower is a magnificent example of heritage architecture, even in its unfinished state. This building was created under the patronage of King Mohammed Ali Shah and was inspired by one of the world’s wonders, the famous “Leaning Tower of Pisa.”
