    History

The concept of community Durga Puja, or the ‘Sarbojanin puja,’ has its origins in the Barowari puja, which started in Guptipara village in Hooghly district in 1759. However, since then, there have been multiple puja pandals to celebrate. Shiv Mandir Sarbojanin Durga Puja is one of them.

    Inside/Outside Views

Shiv Mandir Sarbojanin Durga Puja Pandal is basically a place for worship, round the year, and not restricted to Durga Puja season only. The Shiv Mandir is a permanent temple along with a reasonably large hall for staging various religious rites. Inside the hall, it can comfortably seat around thirty people and also provides air-conditioning, chairs, along with toilet and washroom facilities, all on the first floor. However, the 2nd floor is used as a small ‘Dharamshala’ (which has furnished rooms along with double occupancy, air-conditioning, and toilets or washrooms).
