    History

Over time, Hindu mythology has merged with the history of the Shri Khereshwar Mandir. Some think that Swami Haridas, Tansen’s guru, built the temple during Mughal rule. According to another widely held legend, Raja Sati Prasad erected the temple as a memorial to his wife. Certain temple priests assert that the Khereshwar temple dates back to the Dvapara Yuga and that the holy Vedas also reference it.
