Mata Mansa Devi Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Mansa Devi in the holy city of Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand in India. The temple is located on Bilwa Parvat in the Sivalik Hills, the southernmost mountain range of the Himalayas. Also known as Bilwa Tirth, the temple is one of the Panch Tirth (Five Pilgrimages) in Haridwar.

Mata Mansa Devi Mandir is a famous temple at Haridwar in Uttarakhand dedicated to Goddess Mansa Devi who is believed to be a form of Shakti from the year and believed to be associated with the spirit of the Lord originated from Shiva. Thousands of Hindus flock in large numbers to this temple each year which is one of the ‘Panch Tirths’ or five pilgrimages in Haridwar.

History

According to a story, in the Shivalik hills, a cow would come every day and offer milk on 3 neighboring stone places ( pindies ) on the top of the hill. A local resident observed that 3 sacred Shilas arose and they began to worship and worship. and it was found to be the forehead of Shri Sati. Therefore a temple was eventually built. Maharaja Gopal Singh of Manimajra built the current main temple of Shri Mansa Devi located at the foot of Shivalik in the village of Bilaspur, Tehsil, and Panchkula district in the period 1811-1815. At a distance of 200 meters from the main temple is Patiala Temple, built by Sh. Karam Singh, then Patiala Maharaja in 1840.

Mata Mansa Devi Mandir has immense religious significance, does it not only because of the temple itself but also because it is located in Haridwar, which is believed to be one of the four places where drops of the elixir accidentally fell while being transported by Garuda, Lord Vishnu’s vehicle. Perhaps that is why this magnificent temple has one of the highest steps of any temple in North India. The cable cars that lead there are another feature that adds to the temple’s splendor and attracts tourists from across the country.
