Shri Ram Raja mandir is one of the famous and beautiful temple in Orchha. This place where lord ram is worshipped both as a God and a king. This temple was constructed in the traditional Nagar style which has length of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet.

History

The queen of Orchha who was an ardent devotee of Lord Ram. Once, she was on a pilgrimage to Ayodhya. She had a desire to bring her revered deity back in the form of a boy and lord Ram was pleased with her prayers. He agreed to come to Orchha, but he set a condition that he would not move from one temple to another, but he would stay where she would initially house him. Then, the king of Orchha, on seeing lord Ram as a child, ordered a temple to be built for lord Ram. When the temple was ready. Lord Ram refused to move because of the condition. So eventually the queen’s palace became the Shri Ram Raja Mandir.

Shri Ram Raja Mandir is decorated so beautifully that you can’t take off your eye. As its one of the best temple in Orchha so everyone must visit this temple. You feel so refresh after Entering this place. You can see Ram is sitting in padmasan and everyday after worship sandalwood’s teeka is applied on God Ram’s left teo. Its believed when you visiting the Ram Raja Darbaar if worshippers look at the left foot’s toe and their wish gets fulfilled.
