    Shri Trilochan Mahadev Temple is a historical pilgrimage site located in Rehti village of Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh of India. It is around 40 kilometers from Jaunpur city. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Shivling of the temple is not installed from anywhere by humans. It is believed to have arisen by itself here. According to religious beliefs once Brahma arranged a Yugga and asked Lord Shiva. Then Shiva figures out there. It is said that the height of Shivalinga increases with time. The height of this Shivalinga was 2 feet 60 years ago. But now its height is more than 3 feet. It also increased its glaze. The 3rd eye of Mahadev is more prom.

But this is a place of peace. It has large premises with a pleasant atmosphere.     History

    Once, there was a farmer who used to feed his cow on the field. But everyday, he noticed that his cow extracted all her milk in a certain place. The farmer called locals there and started digging. They got a Shivalinga there and they placed a temple there.

    After that, a dispute came over in two villages about the ownership of the temple. Each villager claimed that the temple belonged to their village premises. This dispute goes on for several days and escalates into mayhem. But no solution came out. Finally, villagers came to the decision that Lord Shiva himself would decide which village was the owner of His temple. So, they locked the temple’s gate and went back to their home. The next morning, when they closed the temple, they were amazed to see that the Shivalinga bend in the Rehti village side. From then on, it was finalized that Shri Trilochan Mahadev Temple is in the Rehti village. 

    There is also a famous story about this temple. That is : once a thief stole the snake that covered Shivalinga and the bell of the temple. But he can’t escape. Wandered around the temple premises and got caught. That is why it is said that Lord Shiva protects this temple himself.

    Inside/Outside Views

    Shri Trilochan Mahadev Temple is a beautiful temple. It has a wonderful erection. A water body on the eastern side of the temple is supposed to be connected with the Gomti RiverA grass found in the water body that only grows in rivers. It is an approval of the connection.     An ancient Shivalinga predominates inside the temple. Along with the Shiva temple, there are Hanuman temple, Ganesha temple, and Vishwakarma temple on the premises. A number of dharamshalas are made in its premises. Marriage functions are helds in those dharamshalas and used for devotee’s taking rest.
