Housed inside the boundaries of the Lucknow Zoo, this esteemed cultural landmark in Lucknow features multiple galleries. Among the well-known exhibits of the State Museum in Lucknow are Indian sculpture, Jain art, Egyptian and archaeological art, Buddha, Nawab artwork and coins, natural history, and mixed-media pieces. The displays placed on these galleries are from bygone centuries, providing visitors with the best historical tour of Lucknow. There was only the Awadh collection of modern art and items in the first year. Later on, though, the museum expands its gallery space. In addition to providing historical information through its exhibits, the museum hosts activities and screenings of films for both college students and young learners.

    Attraction

The museum’s collection of weapons includes artifacts from the 16th to the 19th century, such as sets of bows and arrows, cannons, and guns. The museum features a great collection of coins in addition to a wide collection spanning from paintings to archaeology. Col. Abbott, the Lucknow commissioner at the time, housed a collection of artifacts in a modest chhatri-floor building at Kaiser Bagh when the museum first opened its doors in 1863. In its early years, the store operated as a municipal institution until 1883, when it was designated as a “Provincial Museum.” In June 1884, the museum relocated to a larger location in what had been Lal Baradari, the Nawab of Awadh’s coronation hall.
