History

Tehri Lake is also called Tehri Dam Reservoir. It became visible in 1978 during the construction of the Tehri Dam. The project has faced many environmental protests and political challenges. However, India’s dream came true in 2006 when it successfully completed the dam. The USSR provided technical and financial support. Moreover, progress was delayed because of economic and social obstacles.

Speed Boating: It is a 30-minute ride on a speedboat that cuts the water waves. It costs 600 Rs.

Parasailing: It takes only 2-5 minutes. The fare is Rs. 2500. It allows you to fly above the lake with the help of a parasail.

Jet-skiing: It’s a ride on speedy water scooters that takes 5 minutes, and the fare is RS. 1000

It is well connected to Delhi & other areas of India. U can get a flight from Delhi to Jolly Grant Airport every day. The airport is well connected by motorable roads with Tehri. From the airport, you can go to the desired place using motor vehicles.

By Road: You can also go to Tehri by Road. From Rishikesh or Haridwar, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Tehri. It offers amazing views of the Himalayan foothills and the Ganges River.

By Train: The nearest railway station to Tehri is Yog Nagri Rishikesh. Then you can hire a taxi or take the bus to reach Tehri. Rishikesh has the closest railway station to New Tehri.
