    Thangassery Beach Costal is a small fishing village.  The name “Thangassery” is derived from the Malayalam words “Thanga” which means gold and “Seri” which means place. This word suggested that it was once a prosperous trade center, possibly dealing with precious metals. Locals suggested that the area was also a site for ancient coastal trade routes. The beach has historical significance, as it was once a major center for the Portuguese and later Dutch settlers in this area. The beach has silver-colored sand and extends to around 3 km.

Or you can take a train from the airport to Kollam Railway station. The journey takes around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. From Kollam, the beach is around 5 to 6 km away. You can take a local transport to reach the beach.

    By Train: The nearest railway station to the beach is Kollam Railway Station which is around 5 km away. From here you can easily reach Thangassery Beach by local transport. 

    By Road: Kollam is well connected by road. From Kollam, various transportation is used to reach the beach. From Kollam Thangassery beach will take around 15-20 minutes depending on the traffic.
