Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, also known as Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, is situated in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India. Dr. Salim Ali established the sanctuary in 1983, and it has become a popular place because of its bird diversity. It is located in the basement of the Western Ghats. The sanctuary is considered home to 270 species of birds, and it covers an area of 25.16 square kilometers. It has both migratory and resident birds. There are various species of birds, such as Ceylon frogmouth, Indian Pitta, and Malabar grey hornbill. It also provides a plantation that includes teak, mahogany, and rosewood plants. It’s a perfect place for nature lovers.
