    Situated under the district of Lunglei, under the state of Mizoram, in India the Thorangtlang Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the city. Surrounded by evergreen forests this wildlife sanctuary is home to many animals and birds. Major wildlife animals which are found here are-, leopard, elephant, gaur (Indian bison), wild dog, sambar, barking deer, sloth bear, hoolock gibbon, leaf monkey, common langur, rhesus macaque, giant squirrel, porcupine, slow loris, jungle cat, wild boar and varieties of birds species in the area. Bird-watching here can be an unfortunate experience.

    By rail: The nearest railway station to Thorangtlang Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Silchar in the state of Assam and the distance from Silchar railway station to Aizawl is approximately 185 kilometers. From there you need to hire any local transport to reach your destination.
