Situated under the district of Lunglei, under the state of Mizoram, in India the Thorangtlang Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the city. Surrounded by natural beauty, the sanctuary attracts a lot of tourists every year. This amazing wildlife sanctuary is located at a distance of 240 from Aizawl, the state’s capital city. This sanctuary is spread over about 50 sq km of area. The evergreen forest of this wildlife sanctuary creates the perfect passage for the wild elephants that come from the neighboring country Bangladesh. The lush green surrounding this wildlife sanctuary makes this place so colorful and vibrant, which looks mesmerizing. Here you will find different kinds of wild animals including- leopards, elephants, wild dogs, gaur or Indian bison, sambar, sloth bear, barking deer, hoolock, gibbon, leaf monkeys, and many more. You will also find several colorful birds here.
