Tipaimukh is a hill town in the Churachandpur district of the state of Manipur. It has bordering the state of Mizoram. The word Tipaimukh derives from two words one is ‘tipi’ which refers to the Tuivai River and the other is ‘Muck’ which means Mouth. It is the local word. However the place is also known as Ruongievaisuo. Now, Tipaimukh Dam is one of the major tourist attractions of the Churachandpur district. It is one of the six tribal development blocks of the Churachandpur district and it is the 55th assembly constituency of Manipur. It is an area of 304.8 sq miles.
