The bushes of tea are more than a hundred years old. There are ten branches of the research institute with an area of 349,041 hectares (1317 square mi). The tea institute is providing its services to 1076 states. In the tea industry, the Tocklai tea research institute is playing a vital role.
Inside the tea institute, there is an analytical laboratory with much contemporary equipment. The researchers of the institute do chemical tests on soil, organic manures, fertilizers, and stuff related to tea plants. There are tea bushes that are more than a hundred years old. Outside the tea institute, there is a river Tocklai.
