    The convergence of three great rivers of Yamuna, Ganges, and the Saraswati defines the ghat, and nestled in the lap of the Himalayas, the trivalent ghat is the most sacrosanct bathing spot and is considered the holiest spot in Rishikesh. Triveni means the three and that comes from the fact that it’s the confluence of three major rivers of India namely Yamuna, Ganges, and Saraswati. In this ghat, maha arati is performed here every morning and evening the arati has relevance and it’s said to hold special significance to those who attend it. Maha arati is attended both times with much enthusiasm and devotion throughout the year and devotees also release small oil lamps on boats made of big leaves.

    History

    Priests in red robe in the holy city of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, India during the evening light ceremony called Ganga arthi to worship river Ganga _ Ganges.

    In this ghat, it’s believed that a dip can relieve a human from all his sins and takes her/him towards purity of soul and mind.

    Its also believed that Lord Krishna came to that ghat when he was hit by an arrow shot by Jara a hunter and the famous Krishna Khatri is also constructed here Because of the lord’s visit.

    This ghat also holds an important place in Hindu mythology and finds its mention even in the great tales of Mahabharata and Ramayana.

    In this ghat, there is a flourishing market that satiates the needs of pilgrims for religious artifacts and objects of worship, and the market also has souvenirs and items of daily need, which is why it is always crowded.

    In this ghat, feeding fish is also an engaging and satisfying Activity while sitting there. Every morning and evening time, arati is performed there, and that’s the most beautiful scene ever.
