As the name implies, Tulsi Udyan is a garden park. It was erected in honor of the renowned saint-poet Tulsi Das, who wrote the Epic RamcharitManas, better known as the Ramayana, and was also a devotee of the saint. In the garden, the statue of Tulsi Das is situated beneath an exquisitely carved canopy. Situated on the National Highway that passes through Faizabad, a part of the Ayodhya area, the garden is close to the Ayodhya Bus Stand. The garden was formerly known as Victoria Park, after England’s Queen Victoria. It had her statue as well. In 1960, the park was renamed Tulsi Udyan. The Uttar Pradesh government’s Udyan Vibhag is currently in charge of maintaining the garden.
