    Venna Lake is one of the tourist attractions of Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra state in India. This lake was constructed by Shri Appasaheb Maharaj, who was King of Satara in 1842.

    Attraction

    Vienna Lake is a scenic manmade lake in Mahabaleshwar this lake offers rowboats, and paddleboats to ride to the visitors hence is usually very crowded. There is horse riding and rides for children such as a merry-go-round and also the toy train.

    History

    This Lake was built by Shri Appasaheb Maharaj who was the ruler of Satara and a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, in 1942. This lake is spread over an area of 28 acres with a periphery of 7 to 8 km It was initially built to cater to the water needs of the city.

    Inside/Outside Views

    This lake is surrounded by trees. Tourists can enjoy a boat ride over the lake or a horse ride next to the lake and several small eateries line the banks of the lake. The S.T. bus stand and Mahabaleshwar city market are about 2 km from this venna lake.

    The lake offers rowboats, and paddleboats ride to the visitors and hence is usually very crowded and there is horse riding and rides for children such as merry go round and the toy train and also there are several eateries around the lake famous for street food like bhelpuri, corn and fresh fruits like mulberries, strawberries, and carrots.

    •  INR 500 for one hour
    • Paddle Boat (maximum 6 people): INR 440 for one hour
