20,000 species medicinal plants in White Tiger Herbal Garden Club

Herbal garden is, also known as Tiger’s Prowl that, is located in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. According to the famous Tiger of Bundelkhand, the garden is called White Tiger Herbal Garden. The total area of the garden is 15 hectors with a perimeter of 1.5 km. In the past, the garden is actually a barren piece of land. But one year ago, the Army’s White Tiger Division has changed it into a lush, greenery and cultivable land.

White Tiger Herbal Garden Club is one of the worthy natural oases of Jhansi. It is enriched with 20,000 plant species which are classified into 27 varieties of plants and 400 varieties of Trees. It is the best place to take a leisure walk and enjoy the lush greenery and tranquility. There are many herbs including Rajanigandha, Curry Tree, Ashwagandha, Amla and many more. There has also some medicinal plants. They plant six different species of roses also.

History

In 2012, the National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB) proposed to use the barren land of 15 hectares in Jhansi Cantonment as their promotional experiment. They aimed to raise awareness about the benefits of medicinal plants among people who haven’t any knowledge. It also serves as an educational hub for College and School students. Today, the garden we see is the result of their struggle. The barren land becomes an impressive garden that has thousands of plant species. It also boasts the innovative artwork made from Military Scrap.

By Bus: The garden is situated at the heart of the city of Jhansi. It is located in the Cantonment area near Rani Lakshmi Bai School. Elite Chauraha Bus Stop is the closest bus stop to the garden.
