Ladakh is a region administered by India as a union territory, which constitutes a part of the larger Kashmir region and has been the subject of dispute between India, Pakistan, and China since 1947. Ladakh is bordered by the Tibet Autonomous Region to the east, the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh to the south, and both the Indian-administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
It is bounded by Jammu and Kashmir union territory to the west and by Himachal Pradesh to the south and its northern and eastern borders are disputed with Pakistan and China, respectively. This state was administered as part of Jammu and Kashmir state from 1947 until 2019 when it became a separate administrative unit.
Language
The Ladakhi language is a Tabetic language spoken in Ladakh, a region administered by India as a union territory, and it is the predominant language in the Buddhist-dominated district of Leh. Though a member of the Tibetan family, this state is not mutually intelligible with Standard Tibetan

Thukpa is the staple food of the people of Ladakh, and It is a soupy noodle dish with assorted vegetables and minced meat

By rail: You cannot reach Ladakh directly by train as there is no train station in this state. The nearest railway station is Jammu Tawi.
By road: There are two ways to reach Ladakh and its capital city Leh: by road via Manali or Srinagar and by air with a flight to Kishok Bakula Rinpoche airport which is located just 4 km from Leh city center.
