Telangana

Telangana is a state in India located on the center-south stretch of India. It is the eleventh largest state. The territory of the Telangana region consists mostly of hills, mountain ranges, and thick dense forests covering an area of 27,292 km2 (10,538 sq mi).

Location

Telangana is surrounded by the states of Maharashtra to the north, Chhattisgarh and Odisha to the northeast, Andhra Pradesh to the southeast and south, and Karnataka to the west. Telangana founded the north-central and northeastern portions of Andhra Pradesh for almost six decades, but on June 2, 2014, that territory was calved off to form an isolated state. The capital of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is Hyderabad, in west-central Telangana.

Language

Telangana’s official language is “TELUGU” with different ‘Slang/Pronunciation ’ by comparing to Andhra Pradesh. It is also a bit mix of Urdu as well. Around 76% of the population of Telangana speak Telugu, 12% speak Urdu, and 12% speak other languages.

Telangana is the 29th state of India, formed on the 2nd of June 2014 and has a population of 3,50,03,674.

History of Telangana

Telangana, situated in the Deccan region, includes its governance by many rulers. Nizam-ul-Mulk has beaten Mubariz Khan and conquered Hyderabad in 1724. His successors would rule the princely state of Hyderabad, as Nizams of Hyderabad. The Nizams recognized the first railways, postal and telegraph networks, and the first modern universities in Telangana.

Telangana history and turn it into an attachment or a footnote, particularly from 1956-2014, much of Telangana history is either not properly explored or not recorded even if it was studied. Telangana rose again and secured its political identity now and is in the process of resurrecting its own glorious past. Tradition of Telangana

Telangana culture and tradition have captivated art and history lovers all across the country. Telangana is the youngest state in India. Telangana is among the most artistic states in India when it comes to the culture and arts of Telangana. Dokra is also a startling art form whereby skilled artisans use brass to make spectacular figurines, idols of gods/goddesses, horses, elephants, and other animals. Originating from Bidar in Karnataka, the Bidri art form is also highly prevalent in the state.

Telangana has a perfect mix of folk and Carnatic music. During the 17th century Bhakta Ramadasu, Kancherla Gopanna was among the most renowned Carnatic music originators and an ardent Rama devotee. Buddhism was the dominant religion of the region. Currently, the major religions of Telangana are Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity.

The cotton-producing units of Telangana are famous worldwide. The state is also renowned for its exquisite tie-and-dye techniques. Women generally wear saris, churidars, and langa voni. Traditional dress for men folk in Telangana includes the Dhoti, otherwise known as panch Bathukamma is a unique festival in Telangana.

Telangana food is characteristically spicy and ingredients such as tamarind, sesame seeds, red chilies, and asafoetida are widely used in a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Telangana is visibly wildly popular for its biryanis and Karachi biscuits. Some special food are,

How to reach Telangana

By Road: Hyderabad is well-connected to other parts of India with a widespread road network. Significant national highways crisscross the length and breadth of Hyderabad linking the Telangana state with other bordering states.

By Train: Hyderabad Railway Junction, Secunderabad railway junction, also the headquarters of South Central Railways and Kazipet connect the state to key cities and regions of India, along with numerous other stations.

By Air: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, situated at Shamshabad near Hyderabad is adjudged as one of the best airports in the world. It connects Hyderabad, the heart of Telangana with various other national and international cities and capitals.
