West Bengal is normally renowned in all over the world for its largest traditional city ‘Kolkata’ which is the present capital of this state, and also was the capital of the British raj. The state includes total 23 districts. It is the 13th largest Indian state with an area of 88,752km^2. Most of the people speak Bengali here. The state established in 26 January, 1950. The present chief minister of this state is Mamata Banerjee.

Bangali Pahela Baisakh which is the celebration of the Bengali new year is started with a traditional rally named Mangal Shobhajatra. Jatra is a very famous and attractive drama dorm in West Bengal. Durga Puja is one of the famous festivals for this state’s people.

By Air: Two airports are in west Bengal. One is International Airport named Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Kolkata and another is a domestic, named Bagdogra airport in Bagdogra city.
