Amritsar is a historic and the second-largest city in the Indian state of Punjab. This city is located in the Majha region of Punjab and the population of this city was 1,132,761 in 2011. This city has been chosen as one of the heritage cities for HRIDAY.

This place is believed to be the Ashram site of Maharishi Valmiki who is the writer of the Ramayana and The Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal. Sita gave birth to Lava and Kaush as per the Ramayan. So many people visit there because the Ramtirth temple is nearby this city.
