Dimapur

Location: Nagaland, India

Estimated Visiting Time: 2 – 3 Hours

The gateway to Nagaland, Dimapur is an irresistible part of the North East and a must-visit destination. Dimapur in Naga means “the city near a great river”. With the Dhansiri River on one side and wooden meadows on the other, Dimapur was the ancient capital of the Kachari tribe, traces of which can still be seen today. And that is the reason why you can find many temples and monuments here. Aside from archaeologists tracing its fascinating past, the place is still packed with business travelers due to its shopping malls.

Dimapur has many starry attractions such as Zoo, Ao Baptist Church, Diezephe Craft Village, Nagaland Science Center, and Green Park, but the main attractions remain handicrafts and manual looms.
