Kufri, located near the Himalayas, is a picturesque hill station located at a distance of 20 km from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. It was founded by the British in 1819. The popularity of the hill station as a tourist spot has only increased in the last few decades. The name ‘Kufri’ comes from ‘Kufr’ which means ‘Lake’. Particularly popular among trekkers, It is the starting point of the track among others in Manali, Shimla, Revalsar, and Fagu.
