Visit Time: September to March is the best & ideal time to visit Munnar because of pleasant weather. Summers (April – June) are a little warm but still pleasant. Monsoon season (July and August) experiences heavy rainfall which could hamper your travel plans and hence this period should be avoided.

Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India’s Kerala state. A hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, it’s surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. How to reach

By Road: Munnar is well-connected with many other major cities in India. Also, the state bus is available from any major city. State-run or private buses, plying from various towns in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, are the best way to get to Munnar by road. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) provides bus services to Munnar from all major cities in Kerala.
By Train: Munnar has no railway stations of its own. The nearest railway station is at Aluva, which is at a distance of 110 km from Munnar. The other railway station, “Ernakulam Railway Station” is 130 km away while the “Madurai Railway Station” is at a distance of 135 km. From these points, you can either hire a cab or board the state transport or private buses wherever available.
By Air: Munnar does not have an airport of its own. The nearest airport is the Cochin International Airport, which is 110 km away by road. From Cochin, you can hire a cab to get to Munnar. Another airport, which is called Madurai International Airport, is 140 km away from Munnar. In case you de-board at the Madurai International Airport, you can hire a cab or board the state transport or private buses to get to there.
