    Archaeological finds in Assam state museum

    Previously the museum was known as the Assam Provincial museum. The museum was established by the Kamarupa Anusandhan Samiti in the year 1940. At that time Late Kanklal Baruah was the founder and President. Later in the year 1953, the Assam state museum was handed over to the Assam State Government.
