History

In 1919, as World War I began to show its effects across India, Punjab suffered from inflation, high taxes, and the sacrifices of soldiers brought to war.1919 on 13th April Jallianwala bagh took place and this time Punjab’s population was going to celebrate Baishakh which is an Indian famous festival and had gathered at this place to celebrate it.

This place is like Itself is a piece of history and there is a well where hundreds of innocent people jumped while trying to flee. There are bullet marks that can be seen on the walls, various places from where the firing took place are marked and there is also a Museum. There is one example of the cruelty the British on them and then they killed a lot of people. After seeing and reading these things you feel so bad for them. This beautiful place is managed by Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust.
