    Kali Bhaban Mandir is one of the most famous temples in Etawah. It is a huge temple with a well-decorated entry gate in front of the main temple. It is situated on the bank of the Yamuna River, making it a calm and peaceful place.

    Kali Bhaban Mandir

    Near the bank of the Jamuna River bank, the temple is in the center for worshipers of the goddess Ma Kali. According to ‘Markandeya Purana‘ and some other mythological plots, According to Markandeya Purana and other mythological plots, Devi Durga was black at the beginning. Once, Lord Shiva made a joke about ‘Devi Parvati‘ by saying that it seems like she’s wrapped a black serpent in a white sandalwood tree. Parvati got angry and got into character by ‘austerity.’ It is mentioned in the ‘Mahabharata‘ that Durgaji came to be known as ‘Kaliye, Karaliye, Kalyani, etc.’ when she killed ‘Mahishasura’ (the demon) and Shumb nishumb. It is also mentioned in Mahabharata that at night, ‘Ashwathama,’ son of Dronacharya, appears in the temple and worships Goddess Kali. However, the Kali Bhahan temple is at the center of the faith. During ‘Navratri’, a large number of devotees come to worship the goddess Kali in this temple.

    Situated in the lap of nature on the bank of river Yamuna, on the south outskirts of the city Etawah, Kali Bhaban mandir is a holy place where a large number of people come for prayer. It is largely believed that their wishes are granted when they come to pay a visit to this temple. Etawah’s most famous temple, located near the bank of the river, is full of peace and ambiance.     By Rail: Etawah has its own Railhead, known as the ‘Etawah Railway Station,’ and it is well connected with the major cities of the state, like Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Ghaziabad, and Banaras. It lies on the Delhi-Lucknow line. From the station, Kali Bhaban temple is less than 3 km away.

    By road: Etawah city is 36 Kms from Bhind, 56 Km from Mainpuri, 125 Km from Agra, 240 Km from Lucknow, 314 Km from New Delhi, 153 Km from Kanpur, 183 Km from Aligarh, and is well connected through ‘Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation’ and some private bus operators. Kali Bhaban temple is less than 3 km away from Etawah city. Local transport is available to reach the temple.
