Kauthuka Park is situated on the way to Athirapally Waterfall at Chalakudy in Thrissur, Kerala. It is a small biodiversity park. The visitors can enjoy the healing power of nature. The surrounding landscape comprises streams, hills, caves, and varieties of plants and trees. The species of birds and animals live here freely without any restriction. There is a tiny hut in the park, which is made up of pots and mud. The ponds contain clear clyster water, in which fish of different sizes are present. This is a good place to spend a good amount of time to enjoy a natural environment with motivational ideals. You can enjoy some peaceful time with your family and friends.

    History

    Kauthuka Park was founded by Mr. Verkey Veliyayh. Mr. Verkey Veliyayh is both a founder and an architect. Kauthuka Park is a private property.  He has created an artificial forest or nature for animals and birds. According to his philosophy, “As human beings, we depend on nature for our needs and survival.” This place is spread over 1.25 acres of land. The park was developed to enhance local tourism and provide a space for community engagement with nature.
    This park has a collection of a variety of medicine plants and trees. There is a nice collection of flowers. This park provides an opportunity to learn about different animals and ancient cultures. It serves as a vital space for relaxation.

    How to Reach

    By Air: The nearest airport to Kauthuka Park in Thrissur is Cochin International Airport ( COK). It is approximately 50 km away from the park. From here you can hire a taxi or other means of transport to reach your destination.

    By Train: Thrissur Railway Station is the nearest station.  From here, you can take an auto-rickshaw or other local transport to reach the park.

    By Bus: Kauthuka Park is about 15-20 km from Thrissur Bus Stand, which is nearest. From here, you can directly reach the park.
