History

This setu was built in 1987 with a length of 3 kilometers which connects Nagaon and Sonitpur Districts on the North and South bank. The bridge is named after the Ahom General Kolia Bhomora Phukan. The construction of Kolia bhomora setu took place from the year 1981 to 1987. It was inaugurated by the then PM of India Rajib Gandhi. To build the Kolia bhomora setu it costs Rs. 80 crores. The toll was charged 30 years for transiting the bridge. For different issues, the toll was stopped in September in the year 2016.
