    History

    The construction of the Laxmi Narayan Temple started in 1933. Baldeo Das Birla and his son Jugal Kishore Birla of the Birla family built this temple. That is why this temple is also called Birla Temple. Jat Maharaj Udaybhanu Singh laid the foundation stone of the temple.

    By Road: Public and private buses regularly ply to Rourkela from the cities nearby like Bhubaneswar, Puri, Kolkata, Ranchi, and Raipur. Private Cabs can be also hired to cover the same journey more conveniently. The State Highway 10 and the National Highway 23 connect Rourkela to various cities in Odisha.
